ELECTRIFYING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrifying device capable of achieving an improvement in the cleaning efficiency of a needle and also the prolongation of the life of a cleaning member. SOLUTION: The electrifying device 1C is equipped with a needle electrode 2 and a cleaning roller 205. The needle electrode 2 is constituted so that a plurality of needles 2A extended to be opposed to the surface of a photoreceptor 31 are arranged in one direction. The cleaning roller 205 is arranged to freely move in the arranging direction of the plurality of needles 2A between the surface of the photoreceptor 31 and the needle electrode 2. When the cleaning roller 205 moves, the respective edge parts of the plurality of needles 2A are successively embedded in the inside from the peripheral surface of the cleaning roller 205, and then exposed from the inside of the cleaning roller 205. The peripheral surface of the cleaning roller 205 has such peripheral length R that the edge part of the needle 2A is embedded in a position different from a position where the edge part of any needle 2A is embedded in the previous circulation when it moves in the arranging direction X of the plurality of needles 2A.
