BROADCAST RECEIVING DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING REPRODUCTION OF RECEIVED BROADCAST

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for providing an out-of-area reception preventing function concerning a broadcast service using a communication network, such as an IP network, wherein the concept of a broadcast area cannot be set; and to provide its device. SOLUTION: A receiving device (100) includes: a first receiving means (103) for receiving the broadcast via a first transmission medium (e.g., the IP network) (300); a means 104 for acquiring first area information concerning the area to which the receiving device belongs from information of the received broadcast; an area information holding means (106) for holding second area information concerning the area to which the receiving device belongs; and a means (107) for comparing the first area information with the second area information. The receiving device (100) controls reproduction so as to reproduce the received broadcast when the first area information coincides with the second area information, and not to reproduce the received broadcast when the first area information does not coincide with the second area information.
