SOCKET FOR IC

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-reliability socket for an IC allowing a top cover 30 to be extremely simply fastened with low manhours without needing a special tool, and capable of surely providing uniform fastening force at respective fixing parts as compared with conventional screwing, in a socket for an IC. SOLUTION: This socket for an IC is composed of: a socket base 10 where a columnar parts 13 each having an umbrella-like large-diameter part 13a in an upper part are erected at positions on a circumference adjacent to the outer periphery and nearly equally dividing center angles; and a top cover 30 provided with rotation lock parts 30c in an upper part thereof, and having, on its circumferential part, lock flange parts 30b separately annularly projected outward, having a taper circumferentially formed on its upper surface, and locked to the lower sides of the large-diameter parts of the columnar parts by rotation.
