Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer compound for medical materials excellent in fixing ability of a physiologically active substance, having little nonspecific absorption to proteins, scarcely causing dissolution and deterioration in a washing step and having chemical and physical stability. SOLUTION: The polymer compound for medical materials is a polymer containing recurring units derived from (a) an ethylenic unsaturated polymerizable monomer having an alkylene glycol residue and (b) an ethylenic unsaturated polymerizable monomer to which a functional group for fixing the physiologically active substance is bonded through an alkylene glycol residue, and chain length of the alkylene glycol residue of the ethylenic unsaturated polymerizable monomer (b) is longer than chain length of the alkylene glycol residue of the ethylenic unsaturated polymerizable monomer (a), and a reactive functional group is provided at at least one terminal of the copolymer.
