description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display that an event is generated at a first processor while a general-purpose display device is used as a display device, even if a display is made on the display device by a second processor. SOLUTION: A recording/reproducing processor 11 includes a signal processor 112 for processing video data. A reproducing processor 12 includes a signal processor 122 for processing video data, and a display output 123 for outputting the video data processed by the signal processor 122 for display; and is constituted independently from the recording/reproducing processing portion 11. A microcomputer 111 detects an event generated at the recording/reproducing processor 11. If the video data outputted by the display output portion 123 is displayed on a monitor device 20 when the event is detected, the microcomputer 111 requests the reproduction processor 12 to display that the event is generated. When there is the request, the display output 123 outputs data indicative of that the detected event is generated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
