RECORDING/REPRODUCING DEVICE AND ALTERNATIVE DISPLAY METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display that an event is generated at a first processor while a general-purpose display device is used as a display device, even if a display is made on the display device by a second processor. SOLUTION: A recording/reproducing processor 11 includes a signal processor 112 for processing video data. A reproducing processor 12 includes a signal processor 122 for processing video data, and a display output 123 for outputting the video data processed by the signal processor 122 for display; and is constituted independently from the recording/reproducing processing portion 11. A microcomputer 111 detects an event generated at the recording/reproducing processor 11. If the video data outputted by the display output portion 123 is displayed on a monitor device 20 when the event is detected, the microcomputer 111 requests the reproduction processor 12 to display that the event is generated.
