SOLUTION: A scanning line drive circuit 18 applies driving pulses to respective scanning lines 12 in a selection period, a non-selection voltage in a non-selection period, and inversion pulses in an inversion pulse period. In the inversion pulse period, a voltage from a first inversion power source 22 or second inversion power source 23 is selected by a signal processing circuit 19 and supplied to the scanning lines 12. The signal processing circuit 19 selects the first inversion power source 22 or second inversion power source 23 according to whether the image signal from an image signal circuit 15 is large or small.
