DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document management system capable of reliably managing documents with a relatively simple structure. SOLUTION: This document management system comprises a storage shelf equipped with a plurality of storage boxes for storing a plurality of sorts of documents, an opening/closing door fixed to each storage box of the storage shelf with a freely openable/closable manner, lighting display means 26, 28 provided so that each of the plurality of storage boxes might be lit and displayed, an input means 68 for inputting identification information for identifying the plurality of sorts of documents, a managed document database 72 which registers information regarding the plurality of sorts of documents, and a control means 32 for controlling the lighting display means 26, 28. When the number of inputs of an input number operation means 54 at the time of returning the documents at once reaches a maximum number of open spaces selected by a maximum open space number selection means 52, an alarm signal generation means 56 generates an alarm signal.
