Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an unsaturated aldehyde and unsaturated carboxylic acid in a good yield by performing the gas phase catalytic oxidation of a compound selected from propylene, isobutylene and tertiary butyl alcohol. SOLUTION: This oxidation is performed by using a reaction tube filled with a multiple number of kinds of catalysts obtained by heat treating a prescribed catalyst in the presence of a reducing substance and having different activities, or a catalyst obtained by heat-treating the prescribed catalyst in the presence of the reducing agent and a catalyst which is the prescribed catalyst not heat-treated so that the activity becomes higher from a raw material gas inlet port toward its outlet port part.
