SEALER AND DIVIDER OF BLOOD VESSEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealer and a divider of a blood vessel which can seal and divide, and seal and cut vascular tissue effectively and consistently. SOLUTION: The electrosurgical instrument for performing the sealing and dividing of tissue has a housing 20 to which a shaft 12 is attached. This shaft specifies a longitudinal axis. The electrosurgical instrument also has a first jaw member which can move relative to a second jaw member. The first jaw member is fixed on the shaft and can move relatively from a first open position to a second closed position. In the first open position, the jaw members are arranged in a spaced relation to one another. In the second closed position, the jaw members collaborate so that tissue is grasped among these. This instrument also has a drive rod assembly for creating the movement of the jaw member between the first position and the second position and a rotation assembly 80 which is fixed on the housing for rotating the jaw member around the longitudinal axis.
