Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a suitable aging treatment by determining the time to perform the aging treatment from the characteristics of a protective film of a PDP. SOLUTION: A plasma display panel comprises a first substrate and a second substrate which are arranged so as to form a discharge space therebetween, a plurality of display electrodes formed on the second substrate, a dielectric layer formed on the second substrate so as to cover the display electrodes, and the protective layer formed on the dielectric layer. Provided that the protective layer has a structure in which a plurality of layers are laminated, a manufacturing method of the plasma display panel comprises a step of measuring the film characteristics of a surface layer of the protective layer, a step of determining the aging time from the film characteristics, and a step of performing the aging over the aging time.
