Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust focus position during OPC in optical disk device. SOLUTION: A correlation coefficient C1 providing relative relation between a focus position at which a tracking error signal becomes the maximum in a reference optical disk and a focus position at which jitter of a reproduced RF signal becomes the minimum is stored previously in a memory of an optical disk device. When the optical disk to record data is loaded, a focus position F1t at which a tracking error signal becomes the maximum in the optical disk is obtained, and OPC is performed by shifting F1t by the prescribed quantity and obtaining an optimum focus position Fopc using the correlation coefficient C1 stored in the memory.
