Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly controller of the outdoor unit of an air-conditioner in which precision is enhanced in estimation of lifetime of an electrolytic capacitor. SOLUTION: The controller 4 for controlling the outdoor unit 2 of an air-conditioner comprises a converter 8, a current detection circuit 44, and a microcomputer 5. The converter 8 converts the output from an AC power supply 7 into DC power. The current detection circuit 44 detects the current flowing through an electrolytic capacitor 83 connected for a smoothing circuit in the converter 8. The microcomputer 5 reads the leakage current of the electrolytic capacitor 83 from the current detected by the current detection circuit 44. Furthermore, the microcomputer 5 predicts failure or lifetime of the electrolytic capacitor 83 using the data of leakage current. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
