Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the stable discharge state for generation of a nano-size mist without requiring a labor of replenishment of water. SOLUTION: The electrostatic atomization apparatus is provided with a cooling means 5 for producing water on a discharge electrode portion based on a moisture content in air by cooling a discharge electrode 2, a high voltage power source 4 for atomizing water by generating discharge, and a control means C for monitoring the discharge state and controlling the cooling means 5 by the discharge state. The control means C restricts a cooling ability of the cooling means according to an environment temperature.
