SOLUTION: The commutator 10 allows a current fed from a brush 44 to flow in a coil 48 of an armature 40. The commutator 10 has a body 20 and a plurality of sliding-contact segments 30 arranged around a rotary shaft of the body 20 so as to be brought into sliding contact with the brush 44. Each slit groove 12 for separating the sliding-contact segments 30 adjacent to each other from each other is formed in the body 20.
