IMAGE READING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading system capable of minimizing a consumption of storage areas and a network load and making articles to be read distinct. SOLUTION: The system comprises means of: obtaining image data from reading a document by a scanning function; creating positional information indicating an area of a particular article included in the image data; creating meta data including bibliographic information of the article, information identifying the article and the positional information; storing the thus-created meta data; delivering to a terminal at least the bibliographic information and the information identifying the article; delivering to the terminal the image data of the article in response to a request from the terminal; and carrying out display control of the article image based on the positional information when the meta data has the positional information of the article, while, when the meta data does not have the positional information, carries out display control of the article image as a result of obtaining the positional information from the information identifying the article.
