PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection method and detection program of a parameter value of image analysis processing capable of easily detecting a parameter value of appropriate image analysis processing, and a counting method of counting objects using the parameter value, in a counting method of counting objects by image analysis processing. SOLUTION: This detection method comprises a process of substituting an input measured counted value, image processing counted value, and accurate counted value into a predetermined expression and calculating a detection rate, correct answer rate, and error rate of varied parameter when the measured counted value of the measured counted counting object, the image processing counted value of a plurality of counting objects counted by varying the parameter value and by the image analysis processing of each varied parameter value, and the correct answer counted value, namely the number of measured counted counting objects of the counting objects counted by the image analysis processing are input, and a process of detecting a parameter value when the calculated detection rate and correct answer rate are a predetermined value or more and the error rate is within 0 ± a predetermined range.
