Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a controller for the wide-angle energization of a brushless DC motor used in a ventilation blower, for example, a heat-exchange cooler used for cooling equipment in a portable base station or the like, wherein commutation timing for motor current is favorably controlled in a sensorless manner without use of a position sensor, and overcurrent protection control is carried out while estimating the magnetic pole position of a rotor. SOLUTION: The controller 13 for brushless DC motors 2 is so constructed that voltage applied to a motor is controlled so that the value of current supplied from a direct-current power supply 5 to an inverter circuit 1 does not exceed a predetermined threshold value of current.
