Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To limit an operation only to that in a connection working place, to dispense with cutting of an optical fiber/preparation of an end face, not to depend on a material of an optical fiber connection point, and to determine a connection loss with fixed precision. SOLUTION: Light incident from a light source 3 into the other end of the optical fiber 1a, and propagated up to one end of the optical fiber 1b through the optical fiber connection point 2, is leaked to an outside of the optical fiber 1b, at a leak rate of the light propagated through a core of the optical fiber and a portion other than the core to be leaked to the outside of the optical fiber, and at a leak rate of the light propagated through only the portion other than the core to be leaked to the outside of the optical fiber, by a bent part 5 installed in the vicinity of the one end of the optical fiber 1b, photoelectric power of the leak light therein is measured by a power meter 6 arranged adjacently to the bent part 5, and the connection loss in the optical fiber connection point 2 is determined, based on a variation thereof.
