Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hub unit bearing inner ring having high durability without causing delay breakage in such a corrosive environment that muddy water enters. SOLUTION: After machining a raw material of SUJ2 into a predetermined shape, the hub unit bearing inner ring is subjected to induction hardening on an inner ring raceway surface 10a and an inner peripheral face 10b externally fitted to a recessed peripheral portion 14 of a hub 12 in a range excluding a portion (a front end on the right side of a line L, as shown in Fig.2) 10c on the front end side of the hub beyond a position where the axial inner ring raceway surface 10a is formed. The hardness of a surface layer A of the inner ring raceway surface 10a and the hardness of a surface layer B in a range excluding the front end 10c of the inner peripheral face 10b are each HRC 54-65, and the hardness of the front end 10c is HRC 40 or lower.
