Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slag-foaming depressant contributing to recycle of waste refractory and having better performance than the conventional depressant. SOLUTION: A converter slag-foaming depressant is provided which uses as main raw material, refractory waste material and residual material produced in electromagnetic separation. The refractory waste materials having various grain sizes, produced in a separating/pulverizing/classifying processes aiming at the recycling of the refractory waste material are combined and kneaded after adding water thereto. Concretely, this converter slag-foaming depressant using the refractory waste material contains: 100 mass parts refractory waste material containing grains in an amount of 5-70 mass%, having the maximum grain size of ≥0.5 mm and having a grain size of a ≤0.15 mm; and 5-50 mass parts of the water, and is packed with a thermally burning-off vessel.
