Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a weld bead with a wide bead width, regarding gas shielded arc welding in the horizontal posture of a lap joint part of steel sheets, without generating melt-down upon the welding even when the gap between the steel sheets is wide. SOLUTION: In the gas shielded arc welding method where a horizontal lap joint part of steel sheets each having an Si content of ≤0.1 mass% and a thickness of 2.0 to 4.5 mm is subjected to gas shielded arc welding at a welding speed of ≥1.2 m/min, using a solid wire comprising 0.02 to 0.10% C, 0.5 to 1.0% Si and 1.0 to 1.6% Mn, a wire feeding speed is controlled to ≥11 m/min, and a pulse in which pulse peak current Ip is 440 to 520 A, pulse base current Ib is 30 to 80 A, and also, the pulse peak current Ip and pulse peak time Tp satisfy the inequality (1) of 415≤Ip(A)×Tp(msec)≤780 is applied, so as to perform welding.
