BELT-LIKE ARTICLE SEWING METHOD AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sew a belt-like article on a fabric by eliminating detection of the operation amount of a sewing machine and solving problems of controlling tension by the number of stitching. SOLUTION: A length of the belt-like article 3 and the tension are set to correspond to each other in advance. The feeding amount of the belt-like article 3 and the tension are detected when the belt-like article 3 is sewn on the fabric 2, and the corresponding tension is imparted to the belt-like article 3 during the period of feeding the belt-like article 3 of the set length. The tension 2 is controlled not by the operation amount of a sewing machine 4 such as the number of stitching or a rotating speed of a driving shaft but by the feeding amount of the belt-like article 3 to the sewing machine 4. As a result, the belt-like article 3 is sewed on the fabric 2 by applying a belt-like article sewing method to the sewing machine 4 without a means for detecting the operation amount of the sewing machine 4. The problems such as the deviation of the dimensions generated in controlling the tension by the number of stitching are solved, and the belt-like article 3 of the length to be sewn is sewed on the fabric 2 in a state where the tension to be sewn is imparted.
