PROCESS FOR PRODUCING COPOLYESTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a copolyester which recovers glycols distilled in the process of the production of a copolyester by a highly economical method to achieve the reduction of the production cost of the copolyester by recycling and using them in the process for continuously producing the copolyester and can stably produce a high quality copolyester in the process. SOLUTION: In the process for producing a copolyester comprising mixing an aromatic dicarboxylic acid with two or more types of glycols in a slurry preparation vessel to form a slurry, supplying the slurry to an esterification reaction vessel to perform esterification reaction, successively supplying the obtained low polymer to a polycondensation reaction vessel, and performing polycondensation to continuously produce a copolyester, the distillation residue having a specific amount of water obtained by distilling off a low boiling fraction mainly having water from the distillate distilled from the process is recycled and used as recovered glycols.
