Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an optical fiber, wherein the bending loss characteristics of an optical fiber can be evaluated during wire drawing. SOLUTION: Bending is applied to an optical fiber 4 which is drawn and made to run from a heated preform 2. Light due to the heating of the preform 2 propagated through the optical fiber 4 is leaked from the bent part, and the leaked light is received, and, based on the amount of the light, the bending loss characteristics of the optical fiber 4 are estimated.
