ENGINE CONTROL DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine control device which has high stability, is inexpensive and easy in wiring when operating the engine speed set signal from an engine speed setting device by a controller. SOLUTION: An engine speed setting device 21 for setting the engine speed is connected to a controller 22 which operates the engine speed set signal output from the engine speed setting device 21 and outputs the fuel injection control signal to an engine 31 via an optical communication device 24. The optical communication device 24 comprises a light emission element 26 provided in the controller 22 for emitting the light of the predetermined quantity, an optical fiber 23a for transmitting the light to the engine speed setting device 21, an optical signal control means 27 for interlockingly controlling the optical signal with the setting operation of the engine speed setting device 21 by a dial 25, an optical fiber 23b for returning the optical signal controlled by the optical signal control means 27 to the controller 22, and a light reception element 28 for receiving the returned optical signal.
