Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal type continuous bright-annealing furnace for stainless steel foil ih which the stainless steel foil can be prevented from sticking to in-furnace equipment when the conveyance of the stainless steel foil is stopped. SOLUTION: In the horizontal type continuous bright-annealing furnace 10 provided with a heating zone 11, a slow-cooling zone 13 and a rapid-cooling zone 14 successively in linear, a lowering/lifting device 23 for making the stainless steel foil 32 away from the in-furnace rolls 21 is arranged near the upstream side and/or the downstream side of the in-furnace rolls 21 in the furnace arranged at the heating zone 11 and the slow-cooling zone 13. The connection portion of the lowering/lifting device 23 with the stainless steel foil 32 is formed of a material which does not stick to the stainless steel foil 32 at the temperature of the heating zone 11 and the slow-cooling zone 13.
