METHOD FOR DESILICONIZING MOLTEN PIG IRON AND APPARATUS FOR DESILICONIZING MOLTEN PIG IRON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for desiliconizing a molten pig iron, which does not need a device for generating oxygen, makes a refractory less eroded by preventing iron from being combined with oxygen to reduce an amount of formed iron oxide (FeO), and consequently needs a less cost of a refractory in various devices to be used for molten pig iron treatment, and to provide a method for desiliconizing a molten pig iron, which facilitates the control for manufacturing steps. SOLUTION: The apparatus 50 for desiliconizing the molten pig iron comprises; a steam-generating device 52; and a blowing device 54 which is installed in a large flume 10, and blows the steam generated by the steam-generating device 52 into the molten pig iron which has been tapped out into the large flume 10 from a blast furnace BF, to desiliconize the molten pig iron with the blown steam.
