EVALUATING METHOD OF ION-EXCHANGE RESIN, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF ULTRAPURE WATER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a performance evaluating method of ion-exchange resin for manufacturing ultrapure water and a manufacturing method of ultrapure water that can speedily and accurately measure and evaluate the organic substance elution properties, in manufacturing the ultrapure water of the ion-exchange resin for manufacturing ultrapure water, by using a small amount of resin sample with a simple device and operation, and can select ion-exchange resin for manufacturing ultrapure water of low organic substance elution properties. SOLUTION: When the ion-exchange resin is negative ion exchange resin, ions are loaded by an acid solution, and the amount of eluting organic substance is measured. When the ion-exchange resin is positive ion exchange resin, ions are loaded by an alkali solution, and the amount of eluting organic substance is measured. Thus, the elution properties of the organic substance in manufacturing the ultrapure water are evaluated, and ion-exchange resin for manufacturing ultrapure water of low organic substance elution properties is selected.
