MOLTEN SILICEOUS REFRACTORY AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molten siliceous refractory which has corrosion resistance against a molten metal having strong erosive property. SOLUTION: The molten siliceous refractory contains molten silica and a fluoride. A method for manufacturing the molten siliceous refractory includes: a slurry preparing process for preparing a slurry containing a raw material solid content composed of molten silica powder and fluoride powder; a molding process for obtaining a molding from the slurry; and a firing process for firing the molding at 1,050 to 1,250°C. In the manufacturing method, it is preferable that the ratio of the fluoride powder is 0.01-10 mass% as fluorine content, and a mixture of 50-90 mass% first molten silica powder having an average particle diameter of 1-10 μm and 10-50 mass% second fused silica powder having an average particle diameter of 50-500 μm is used as the molten silica powder.
