Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and kit for detecting neurotoxicity. SOLUTION: This method for detecting the neurotoxicity of a substance to be tested is provided by comprising (a) a process of exposing the substance to be tested to a nerve-derived cells, (b) a process of measuring the amount of expression of at lest one mRNA of specific polynucleotide sequences in the nerve-derived cells, and (c) a process of comparing the measured expressed amount of the mRNA with the expressed amount of the mRNA of the specific polynucleotides in the nerve-derived cells without being exposed to the substance to be tested. Also, the kit for detecting the neurotoxicity is provided by including a nucleic acid consisting of at least 10 continuous sequences capable of hybridizing with a base sequence selected from a group consisting of the specific base sequences and a complemental sequences to the above specific sequences under a stringent condition.
