IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND RECORDING MATERIAL REVERSING UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a recording material from curling up without making a configuration complicated, regarding an image forming apparatus using fixation liquid, and also, capable of recording images on both sides of the recording material. SOLUTION: The recording material reversing unit 200 is freely detachably attached to a printer main body 100. The printer main body is provided with a fixing device 24 for fixing a transferred image on the recording material by sticking the fixation liquid 26 on the image-transferred recording material in one or a plurality of image transfer positions. On the other hand, the recording material reversing unit 200 is provided with a paper refeed path P4 for reversing the recording material after image fixing in the fixing device and refeeding the recording material to the image transfer position. Besides, the unit 200 is also provided with a recording material drying means 50 for drying the recording material passing through the paper refeed path. A heating means for irradiating the recording material with radiant heat is used as the recording material drying means. It is allowable to use a heating/pressurizing means for pressurizing a heat roller against the recording material and an air sending means for sending the air to the recording material.
