SOLUTION: This air conditioner provided with a refrigerating circuit formed by successively connecting a compressor, an outdoor heat exchanger, an outdoor pressure reducer, a first indoor heat exchanger, an indoor pressure reducer and a second indoor heat exchanger in series, and comprising an operation mode switching portion for switching an air conditioning operation and a drying operation, further comprises a room temperature sensor detecting a room temperature V and an outside air temperature sensor detecting an outside air temperature W, and the operation mode switching portion determines a set room temperature X to an operation mode switching temperature Z, when a temperature difference Y (W-X)=Y between the outside air temperature W and the set room temperature X is within a prescribed range, determines the operation mode switching temperature Z to be lower than the set room temperature X, when the temperature difference Y is more than a prescribed value T1, and determines the operation mode switching temperature Z to be higher than the set room temperature X, when the temperature difference Y is smaller than a prescribed temperature T2.
