METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING CARBON NANOTUBE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a carbon nanotube which make it possible to continuously manufacture a high grade carbon nanotube while reducing the generation of a by-product, in the case of manufacturing a carbon nanotube while continuously supplying a granular solid catalyst and a carbon-containing gas. SOLUTION: A supply pipe 14 for the granular solid catalyst is inserted up to the inside of a reaction region A and the granular solid catalyst is carried together with an inert gas by the supply pipe 14 to be introduced into the reaction region, in the manufacturing and apparatus in which the carbon nanotubes are produced on the granular solid catalyst by continuously introducing the carbon-containing gas and the granular solid catalyst formed by loading a metal catalyst onto a carrier, into the reaction region A under heating, and the granular solid catalyst is continuously recovered.
