Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring apparatus and system capable of detecting a fault location in a processing section inside a device such as an FPGA, an LSI and a memory or a transmission path connected to the processing section. SOLUTION: In a monitoring data insertion section 500, monitoring data DT_MNT in a prescribed pattern are inserted in an idle period T_IDLE of input data DT1, DT2 and the resulting data are transmitted to the transmission path L1. When discriminating that the monitoring data DT_MNT do not maintain the prescribed pattern, a monitoring data check section 600 receiving the monitoring data DT_MNT via a transmission path L2 gives a selection switching instruction IND_S to a selector 700_2 and controls the selector 700_2 to sequentially apply selective switching to processing sections 210, 220 and a MEM thereby detecting a fault location associated with the processing sections. Further, when the monitoring data check section 600 cannot detect the fault location associated with the processing sections, the monitoring data check section 600 gives a channel switching instruction IND_C to a switch section 710 to execute switching of channels CHs of the transmission path L2 thereby detecting in which channel of the transmission paths L1, L2 a fault takes place.
