Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active material for a nonaqueous secondary battery providing a nonaqueous secondary battery more excellent in a cycle property and safety than before, and a manufacturing method of the active material. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the active material for the nonaqueous secondary battery, a compound containing an element A (one or more elements selected from B, Al, Ga, In, Si, Ge, Sn, Mg and transition metal elements) is adhered to a particle surface of a material which can be doped/dedoped with lithium ions, then the material to which the compound adheres is kept in a water-containing atmosphere so that a weight increase rate of the material is not less than 0.1 wt.% but not more than 5.0 wt.%, and after that the material is subjected to baking.
