CHARACTER RECOGNITION METHOD, DEVICE AND STORAGE MEDIUM WITH ITS PROGRAM STORED

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character recognition method and its device and a storage medium for storing its program for reducing the calculation quantity of a whole character recognition system by using a large classification result as a recognition result without performing any following identification when the reliability of the large classification result is high. SOLUTION: The available extent of classification scales of largely classified first place candidates is divided into a plurality of sections and a table in which a parameter is stored is prepared in advance for every section, and reliability judgement is operated by deciding whether or not the first place candidates are a correct answer category from the parameter stored in the section to which the classification scales of the largely classified first place candidates are belonging and the classification scales of the first place candidates and the second place candidates, and when the reliability is high, the calculation quantity of the whole character recognition system is reduced not by performing identification.
