Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To predict bovine fat-crossing ability by judging the ability by genotype analysis, to provide a method for judging the genotype, and to provide a kit to be used for the method. SOLUTION: The bovine fat-crossing ability is predicted by judging an SNP(single nucleotide polymorphism) type in at least either one of +166bp and +3698bp of a bovine EDG1 gene. The method for judging the genotype is characterized in making the above judgement. The kit is an RCR-RFLP kit for the above prediction and judgement, being characterized in comprising at least either one of a primer amplifying the sequence in a domain containing +166bp of the bovine EDG1 gene in a specimen, a primer amplifying the sequence in a domain containing a restriction enzyme Ba1I or MscI and +3698bp, and a restriction enzyme EcoT14I.
