HIGH DENSITY OPTICAL DISC AND METHOD FOR REPRODUCING AND RECORDING DATA THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high density optical disc wherein control information recorded in a lead-in area of the high density optical disc can be correctly read and confirmed by an optical disc device, and to provide a method for performing reproduction from the high density optical disc and performing recording to the disc. SOLUTION: In the high density optical disc and the method for performing reproduction and recording of the high density optical disc, the main information recorded in the lead-in area of the high-density optical disc such as a high density-digital versatile disc DVD (HD-DVD) or Blu-ray disc is recorded by minimum mark/space longer than minimum mark/space of data recorded in a data area and the main information is duplicated and recorded in a lead-out area.
