SYSTEM-SWITCHING METHOD, COMPUTER SYSTEM THEREFOR, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology which easily constructs a very reliable standby system and reduces a cost in construction and operation. SOLUTION: In a method for making a switch between a currently used computer and a reserve computer which are connected to each other via a network, an address registration request having, as information, an address used in the reserve computer is transmitted from the reserve computer by means of a communication device when system switching is made from the currently used computer to the reserve computer, and another computer which receives the address registration request transmits an address deletion request, which has the address as information, to the currently used computer using the address, and the currently used computer transmits an address deletion response after a connection using the address existing in the address deletion request is cut off. Further, another computer which receives the address deletion response transmits the address registration response to the reserve computer after the connection using the address is cut off, and a connection establishment request is transmitted and received between the reserve computer and another computer by the communication device to re-establish the connection.
