RESIN COMPOSITION FOR WATER-BASED COATING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for a water-based coating which does not generate not generating agglomerated matter at the time of emulsion polymerization, is good in storage stability and very easily converted into a coating, and which can prevent an aqueous contaminant from migrating to the coated surface even when used for recoating of indoor surfaces contaminated with the aqueous contaminant. SOLUTION: This resin composition for the water-based coating comprises a hetero-phase structure particle-containing emulsion obtained by multi-stage emulsion polymerization, where at least a phase of the hetero-phase structure particle is formed of a copolymer obtained by emulsion polymerization of a monomer having a cationic functional group with another monomer having no carboxy group in the presence of an anionic surfactant, and at least a phase thereof is formed of a copolymer obtained by emulsion polymerization of a monomer having a carboxy group with another monomer having no cationic functional group.
