Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new thermal transfer recording method for obtaining an image with a high density, a high sensitivity and good fixing properties, and a new metal chelate image obtained by the method. SOLUTION: In the thermal transfer recording material having a coloring matter donating material having a coloring matter donating layer comprising at least one kind of chelate-formable specified coloring matter, and an image receiving material having a coloring matter image receiving layer comprising at least one kind of metal ion-containing compounds which can form a chelate compound by reacting with the coloring matter, the thermal transfer recording material is characterized in that the evaporation heat (kcal/mol) of the chelate-formable specified coloring matter is ≥15.0 and ≤23.0.
