SOLUTION: The cooling system is provided with a pump 1, a water tank 2 with a water level 2a formed at a position higher than the pump 1 for storing cooling water, a suction-side piping 21 connecting a suction side of the pump 1 and a cooled unit 8 arranged at a position higher than the water level 2a of the water tank 2, a discharge-side piping 22 connecting a discharge side of the pump 1 and the water tank 2, a water supply piping 30 sending the cooling water in the water tank 2 to the cooled unit 8, a bypass piping 20 branched from the water supply piping 30 and connected to the suction-side piping 21 without passing the cooled unit 8, and a bypass valve 3 arranged at the bypass piping 20.
