Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of film thickness difference of an alignment layer due to a multi-gap structure of a liquid crystal display panel. SOLUTION: An angle θ formed by a side surface of a transparent layer 7 and a substrate surface 1a outside the transparent layer 7 is made to be an acute angle and a residue 9a of the alignment layer is made to be resident in a space 7a of the acute angle. Thereby difference of the film thickness T of the alignment layer 9 does not occur in a region outside a region of a substrate surface 1a formed by projecting a peripheral end of the transparent layer 7 on the substrate surface 1a, that is, in a transmission region 6, so that the difference of contrast per one pixel does not occur and reduction in display quality can be prevented.
