Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To vary an intake stroke, while securing the predetermined compression ratio, by increasing the expansion ratio to the compression ratio, in a crank mechanism of a four-cycle reciprocating engine. SOLUTION: This crank mechanism is formed on the basis of a double connecting rod crank mechanism composed of a main connecting rod 2, a sub-connecting rod 7 and a crank arm 10. A stroke of an expansion-exhaust stroke is set to two times the length of a crank 10, and a stroke of an intake-compression stroke is set shorter than the stroke of the expansion-exhaust stroke in two times the length of the sub-connecting rod 7. A gear (A) 17 is rotatably arranged around a crankshaft 11, and the sub-connecting rod 7 is connected to a gear (B) 18. A gear (C) 20 is arranged so as to mesh with the gears (A) 17 and (B) 18. Rotation of the gear (A) 17 is controlled by an intake stroke setting device 35 and a compression ratio setting device 45 arranged on the engine body side. The intake stroke is varied by rotating the sub-connecting rod 7 in the intake stroke and the compression stroke, and the predetermined compression ratio is secured. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
