Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the efficiency of dehydrogenation reaction or hydrogenation reaction in relation to a hydrogen generation apparatus in which hydrogen is generated by dehydrogenation reaction of an organic hydride and a hydrogenation reaction apparatus in which hydrogen is stored by synthesizing an organic hydride by hydrogenation reaction of an unsaturated hydrocarbon. SOLUTION: The hydrogen generation apparatus in which hydrogen is generated by dehydrogenation reaction of an organic hydride in the presence of a catalyst has a reactor 10 of a multiply tubed structure equipped with an area 12 to which fuel for generating heat necessary for the dehydrogenation reaction is supplied and which has a combustion catalyst used for combustion of the fuel, and an area 11 having the dehydrogenation catalyst necessary for the dehydrogenation reaction in such a way that the areas are radially adjacent to each other via a wall.
