DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MONITORING IMAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for monitoring an image capable of conducting an accurate monitor, even at a location where various structures are mounted on the basis of the mounting parameters and photographic images of a monitoring camera. SOLUTION: A device body 1 has a control unit 10 processing an information related to the control of the device as a whole, and an image processor 11 image-processing photographed video. An area display processor 11a in classification of structure sets data in classification of area in each area in the classification of structure partitioning the background image by structure kind. A distance-data computing section 10a computes distance data by using the mounting parameters of the monitor camera. An area distance-data setter 10b in classification of structure sets the distance data of areas in classification of structure, by using the distance data of a reference area.
