Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording device which can surely detect a commercial in a broadcasting program and can easily perform edit processing for the commercial or the like. SOLUTION: In a DVD recorder 10, chapter points are set to boundaries of respective chapters by a setting means (setting program 95b etc.) and broadcasting program data is divided into a plurality of chapters based on switching of stereo system/monaural system of voice data or detection of a silent part N by a detecting means (detecting program 95a etc). Further, it is decided whether each divided chapter is a program main part S or a commercial C by deciding that a chapter in which length of a time is within the prescribed error range of a multiple of 15 seconds is the commercial C by a decision means (decision program 95c etc.), a chapter decided as the commercial C is erased by an editing means (editing program 95d etc.).
