Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate, with which the viewing angle dependence can be improved by a means, other than the conventional methods (internal structure of a liquid crystal panel and improvement by retardation film) of improving the viewing angle dependence of a liquid crystal display. SOLUTION: The polarizing plate has a polarizing layer, including a region where a dichromatic function unit (i.e. dichromatic dye) is subjected to orientation control by having an angle of inclination with a polarizing plate surface. The angle of inclination may be uniform or may change in the film thickness direction of the polarizing layer. Also, the liquid crystal display device, having such polarizing plate, is provided.
