Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent or ameliorate dementia and nervous disorder by preferably taking the supernatant of the culture product of the mycelium of fungus having beta-NGF production promoting action. SOLUTION: The composition having activity to promote the production of nerve growth factor contains, as an active component, the supernatant of the culture liquid obtained by the shaking incubation of the mycelium of the fungus of the genus Agrocybe, preferably Agrocybe cylindracea at 130 rpm in MYG liquid medium at 25°C for 7 days and filtering the obtained culture liquid. The invention further provides an agent for promoting the production of nerve growth factor containing the composition, a food or drink having activity to promote the production of nerve growth factor, and a feed having activity to promote the production of nerve growth factor.
